6 Best Wireless Earbuds with Charging Case in 2024

1. Best Overall – Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus

Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus

Check Price on Amazon

Check Price on Walmart

Galaxy Buds Plus is the latest wireless earbud model from the Samsung Galaxy line. They are arguably the best wireless earbuds with charging case on the market. We love them for their design, stability, ease of use, battery life, and sonic performance. We also liked the price – Galaxy Buds Plus are priced under $150.

Things we like

In terms of design, Buds Plus earbuds are not much different from the original Galaxy Buds. The same stylish design is still there. The build is also the same. The buds are IPX2 certified, which doesn’t make them perfect for sports. Sport is probably the only thing they are not great for.

The stability these buds provide is significantly better than average. You get three pairs of tips and three pairs of fin sleeves so you should be able to find the right fit.

The biggest improvements, compared to the previous version, are related to the battery life and overall performance. The new Buds Plus deliver almost 12.5 hours of playtime per single charge. The case will allow you to charge the buds one more time (additional 12.5 hours). The charging case comes with a USB-C cable and supports fast charging – 3mins of charge will deliver 1 hour of playtime.

The earbuds feature the latest Bluetooth 5.0. The pairing is fast and simple. The range extends well over 100ft (this is an unobstructed range).

Buds Plus, unlike the previous Galaxy Buds, are fully compatible with both Android and iOS. They also come with the app (Galaxy Wearable app for Android devices, Galaxy Buds+ app for iOS devices). This app allows you to check the battery status, adjust EQ settings, program touch-sensitive controls on the earbud faceplates, update the software, or find the earbuds.

The app also enables you to engage Ambient Aware2. This feature will allow you to select the ambient sounds (frequencies) you want to stay aware of. In practice, this feature enables you to hear the traffic around you or flight announcements while listening to music.

Each earbud has two external and one internal mic. They will pick up your voice perfectly and isolate most of the noise.

Sonic performance is probably the best thing about Galaxy Buds Plus. Their sound signature is quite refined. The sound is surprisingly well-balanced. The bass is present, accurate, and punchy. The mids are detailed and sweet. The treble is quite accurate and consistent.

Things we don’t like

People who like bass-heavy sound might perceive these as too balanced. You can try playing with different EQ modes, but you will hardly get the kind of bass you like.

Even though they feature Bluetooth 5.0, the earbuds don’t support multipoint or NFC quick pairing.

Because of the lack of aptX LL support, the earbuds are a bad choice for movie watching. The audio delay is quite noticeable.

2. The Most Neutral-Sounding Wireless Earbuds Under $150 – Bose SoundSport Free

Bose SoundSport Free

Check Price on Amazon

Check Price on Walmart

Bose SoundSport Free are designed for sports and that’s their primary purpose. Thanks to their specific semi-open design and their capable drivers, these earbuds are also great for critical listening. Bose SoundSport Free are arguably among the top-three best-sounding wireless earbuds on the market. There are also a few things we were not impressed by – the battery life is only average, the app that comes with the earbuds has only some basic settings, and the buds can’t be used for movie watching because of the audio delay.

Things we like

The earbuds are very premium-looking, very attractive, and quite sporty. They come with three pairs of silicone tips with stability fins. The buds are pretty bulky and tend to stick out but, thanks to the included fins, they are quite stable in-ears. They are perfectly suitable for sports.

The earbuds feature Bluetooth 4.1. The pairing is simple and fast and the range is modest considering the price (50-60ft within the line of sight) but still longer than average.

The buds come with the Bose Connect app (available for iOS and Android). The app has a user-friendly interface and it’s perfectly responsive. However, the app has only some basic features – battery info, in-app music player, standby timer. It can also help you find the earbuds by giving you the last known location.

The built-in battery delivers 5-6h of playtime (at 50% vol). The charging case will deliver 2 additional charging cycles (additional 10h). The battery life doesn’t make them awful but also doesn’t make them great. It’s only average and we have expected a bit more at this price point.

The best thing about Bose SoundSport Free earbuds is their sound reproduction. Their sound signature is almost perfectly neutral. The amount of bass is just perfect. The mids are nicely balanced with the bass and the treble is accurate and consistent. Thanks to the specific semi-open design, Bose earbuds deliver much wider and airier soundstage than other wireless earbuds. Bose SoundSport Free buds are great for all kinds of music.

Things we don’t like

If you are a fan of heavy bass, you won’t be impressed. Bose SoundSport Free deliver very accurate and tight bass, almost on par with some audiophile earbuds, but aren’t bassy.

The earbuds have physical control buttons. The buttons are tiny, stiff, and very difficult to press.

The Bose Connect app doesn’t have many available adjustment options. For example, there are no EQ settings or presets.

Because of the semi-open design, the earbuds don’t block the ambient noise well and also leak more sound than average.

Due to the lack of aptX LL, the audio delay when watching video content is quite noticeable.

3. Best Under $100 – Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2

Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2

Check Price on Amazon

Check Price on Walmart

Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 earbuds are our top choice when it comes to wireless earbuds with charging case under $100. These stylish and fairly durable wireless earbuds offer more than you would expect at this price point and have a surprising number of features, including the companion app, EQ settings, powerful battery, etc. It’s an amazing pair of earbuds, perfect for commuting and sports. The bass enthusiast will also like them.

Things we like

In terms of style and design, Liberty Air 2 are similar to the previous version and they are both similar to Apple’s AirPods. The earbuds look and feel quite premium and durable. They are also IPX5 certified, which makes them a good choice for sports.

The buds come with 5 pairs of silicone tips and have an ergonomic angled design so finding the right size and fit will not be a problem.

The controls are touch-sensitive and you can either double-press or long-press the faceplates to control the playback, manage calls, or adjust the volume. The app that comes with the earbuds (Anker Soundcore app), allows you to assign a certain function to the touch-sensitive controls. The control scheme is fairly simple.

Liberty Air 2 earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.0. The pairing is fast and the range is extended (well over 150ft without obstacles). The earbuds support aptX audio codec (but not aptX LL and other codecs from the aptX family).

The battery delivers 7h of playtime per one charge and the case offers 3 additional charges (28 hours in total). The case can be charged wirelessly – you just have to place it on a Qi charger (or you can charge it with the included USB-C cable). The fast charge feature is supported, too. 10 minutes of charge will deliver 2 hours of playtime.

The sound is somewhat bassy. The whole low end is elevated and quite powerful. The mids are a bit recessed and can be overshadowed by the bass when bass-heavy tracks are played. The treble is very good – it’s quite accurate and detailed. The included app allows you to select one of 22 available EQ presets or to completely customize the sound profile through 8-band manual EQ settings. The earbuds isolate a substantial amount of ambient noise and don’t leak much.

The earbuds have built-in mics for call answering. Their performance is not flawless but it’s still satisfying.

Things we don’t like

If you are looking for a perfectly balanced, close-to-neutral sound signature, you won’t be amazed by the Liberty Air 2.

Liberty Air 2 earbuds are not a good option for watching videos or TV due to the lack of aptX LL support. The audio lag is simply too noticeable.

4. Best Wireless Earbuds for Sports – Powerbeats Pro Wireless

Powerbeats Pro Wireless

Check Price on Amazon

Check Price on Walmart

This is not the first time you see this earbud model in one of our lists. Powerbeats Pro earbuds were our top choice when we did an article on wireless earbuds with the longest battery life but that’s not the only great thing about them. They also sound surprisingly neutral, especially for a Beats product.

Things we like

Powerbeats Pro wireless earbuds don’t really have the most unique design. You have probably seen it on many sports earbuds with over-ear hooks. However, that doesn’t mean they don’t look attractive. On the opposite, they are quite likable. The build quality is also premium. The earbuds and the hooks are wrapped in silicone. The earbuds are IPX4 certified, which makes them suitable for sports.

The controls are super-easy to use and perfectly responsive. You have one touch-sensitive beats button on each earbud (used for playback control and call management) and two tiny physical buttons for volume control

Powerbeats Pro have Bluetooth 5.0 with a special H1 chip that improves performance when buds are paired with Apple devices. We didn’t have any problems with pairing, connection reliability, or range. The unobstructed range extends over 150ft.

The earbuds have built-in proximity sensors – whenever you take them out, the playback will pause.

One of the greatest highlights is battery life. Powerbeats Pro earbuds deliver a very long playtime on a single charge – almost 11 hours. The only better earbuds, in this aspect, are the Galaxy Buds Plus. The included charging case will deliver 14 additional hours (approx. 1.5 charging cycles). Thanks to the fast charge feature, you can get 90mins of playtime after 5mins of charging.

Another thing we love about Powerbeats Pro is the sound. The bass is accurate, tight, and punchy. The mids are in perfect balance with the lows. They are dynamic and detailed. The treble reproduction is probably the only downside when it comes to sonic performance. The highs are recessed, they lack a little bit of detail, and sound a bit dull.

Things we don’t like

The app that comes with Powerbeats Pro is not great. It’s only available for Android devices (you don’t need it for Apple devices). This app will only allow you to check the battery status and nothing else. There are no EQ settings, EQ presets, button mapping, etc.

The built-in Bluetooth chip doesn’t support multipoint pairing or NFC quick pairing.

Depending on the size of your ears, you may not be able to find the perfect fit. The problem is in those over-ear hooks – they are not removable and cannot be replaced by smaller hooks. If you have average-sized ears, there should be no problems.

Due to the lack of aptX LL, the audio delay is quite noticeable, especially when using Android devices – Powerbeats Pro earbuds are not a good choice for movie/TV watching.

5. Best for People with Small Ears – Jaybird Vista

Jaybird Vista

Check Price on Amazon

Check Price on Walmart

If you are looking for a pair of small sports earbuds, Jaybird Vista is a pretty good choice. Vista earbuds are compact, very durable, perfectly stable in-ears, and quite reliable. The battery life is just average and the mic performance is not on par with the price.

Things we like

The earbuds are very small and feel very premium. The enclosures are made of hard plastic and definitely look like they can withstand some heavy use. The buds are also fully waterproof (IPX7 certified).

The earbuds come with three pairs of ear tips with additional stability fins. Finding the right size and fit won’t be a problem. Jaybird Vista earbuds are among the most stable earbuds, regardless of your ear size. That makes them one of the best earbuds for running, working out, and all kinds of sports.

The earbuds have a very simple and easy-to-use control scheme. You have touch-sensitive buttons on both earbuds and you can use them to play/pause the tracks (press once), answer calls (press once), play the next song (double press), and adjust the volume (long press).

The earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.0. The connection is stable and reliable, and the pairing is simple and fast. The range extends over 200ft (unobstructed range).

The battery life is not the most impressive feature of Jaybird Vista. They deliver 5-6 hours of playtime on a full charge. The included charging case delivers two additional cycles (15-16h in total). Jaybird Vista buds support fast charge feature – 5mins of charge will give you 1h of playtime.

The earbuds come with the Jaybird MySound app (available for iOS and Android). The app is pretty great. It’s perfectly stable and without any bugs. You can use it to check the battery status, assign a function to a certain button (button mapping), and customize the sound your likings (EQ presets and manual EQ adjustments).

The earbuds deliver quite an enjoyable and exciting sound signature. The bass is slightly elevated and very punchy. The midrange is not perfectly balanced but it’s enjoyable. The lower mids are elevated, which makes the sound a little bit warmer. There’s a small dip from 500Hz to 1kHz which pushes the vocals slightly to the back of the mix. The treble is probably the worst part. It’s not very consistent. Certain lower frequencies are recessed while the higher frequencies are elevated. That peak around 10Khz makes the treble a little bit brighter and might cause some sibilance at higher volumes. Thanks to the Jaybird MySound app, you can always adjust the sound to your likings.

Things we don’t like

The mic performance is not on par with the price. It’s actually quite poor and it will muffle your voice and make it sound thin. It’s good enough for indoor use but it can’t isolate ambient noise.

The earbuds are not great for movie/TV watching because of the noticeable audio lag. They don’t support aptX LL.

6. Best for Apple Devices – Apple AirPods 2

Apple AirPods 2

Check Price on Amazon

Check Price on Walmart

The last earbuds on our list of 6 best wireless earbuds with charging case in 2024 are the AirPods 2. Along with the original version, AirPods 2 are probably the most popular and highest-rated true wireless earbuds on the market. In our opinion, AirPods 2 are not among the best wireless earbuds when it comes to stability, battery life, or sound reproduction, but they are among the most convenient, most stylish, and easiest to use earbuds, especially if you are an iOS/macOS user.

Things we like

Like any other Apple product, AirPods 2 are incredibly simple yet incredibly attractive. Everything about the build quality of AirPods 2 looks and feels very premium and very high-end. However, they are not sweat/water-resistant.

The comfort is excellent. They don’t go deep in your ears and are quite pleasant to wear. Stability and fit, on the other hand, depend highly on the size and shape of your ears. These buds don’t come with tips or stability fins in different sizes. They will fit perfectly most people but if you have very large or very small ears, you may experience some issues.

The control scheme is fairly simple. If you are an iOS user, you can use Siri to control everything. The faceplates are touch-sensitive and you can use them to play/pause music, answer calls, and play next/previous song. For volume control, you have to use either Siri or your phone. Android users can only use their phones/tablets.

The earbuds don’t come with an app, but there’s a special interface for Apple devices that allows you to map buttons (assign different commands to those touch-sensitive controls), turn off the touch-sensitive controls, and check the battery status.

Like the previously reviewed Powerbeats Pro, AirPods 2 feature Bluetooth 5.0 and have a built-in H1 chip that improves performance when the earbuds are connected to Apple devices. The unobstructed range extends over 150ft and the range is perfectly stable within the 50ft range.

The battery life is mediocre – you will get approx. 5 hours on a single charge. The charging case delivers 4 additional charging cycles (25h in total). It takes 30mins to fully charge the earbuds.

The sound is neither neutral nor bassy. The emphasis is on the midrange clarity and accuracy. If you’re more into classical music or some vocal-centric music, you are going to love them. If you are into rumbling bass, you won’t be amazed. The treble is a bit too emphasized and will sound too bright or even painful when treble-heavy tracks are played. The interface for Apple devices doesn’t offer any EQ settings but you can always use some third-party EQ software to change the EQ settings.

The earbuds support only basic Bluetooth codecs. There’s no aptX LL support but the earbuds are optimized to perform best when paired with Apple devices and you won’t notice any audio delay when watching videos on iOS and macOS devices.

The mic is mediocre but it’s usable.

Things we don’t like

The earbuds are not sweat-resistant or water-resistant, which makes them less suitable for sports.

The AirPods 2 are only partially compatible with Android devices. There’s no app for Android.

The included interface for Apple devices doesn’t offer any EQ adjustments. Also, the earbuds don’t have ANC capabilities. If you are looking for those features, try more expensive Apple AirPods Pro

Even though they feature Bluetooth 5.0, AirPods 2 don’t support multipoint pairing and NFC pairing.

Comparison Table

This is the end of our list of 6 best wireless earbuds with charging case in 2024. Hopefully, there was at least one model that met your requirements. If you want to find out more, go through our FAQs section. In case you have any additional questions or want to share your experience with wireless earbuds, feel free to comment.

FAQs

Q: What are the best wireless earbuds for the money?

A: That mostly depends on the purpose and we can’t give you a definite answer. What’s good for sports doesn’t have to be good for commuting or air travel, especially if you are looking for ANC headphones/earbuds. Some earbuds are great for mixed usage and you have a couple of those in our list of 6 best wireless earbuds with charging case in 2024.

Q: What wireless earbuds have the longest battery life?

A: Our top choices when it comes to battery longevity are Powerbeats Pro, Liberty 2 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus. For more suggestions, check out our list of best wireless earbuds with long battery life

Q: What are the best affordable wireless earbuds?

A: The market is flooded with all kinds of cheap wireless earbuds but not all of them are good enough. Finding a great pair of cheap pair of earbuds is actually a very difficult task. Our top choices when it comes to cheap and affordable earbuds are SoundPEATS and Anker.

Q: What should I look for when buying wireless earbuds?

A: Well, you should always look for the best possible build quality and durability, excellent battery life, and a sound signature that suits your taste. Any extra features (smart features, smartphone app) you can get are welcome. However, you should be aware that you can’t always get everything you want. It all depends on how much you are willing to pay. You will never get the same feature set and performance for 50 bucks and for 200.

You should also pay attention to the size of the earbuds. If you have very small ears or you want something inconspicuous, you should be looking for the smallest earbud models

If you want sports earbuds, you should check their waterproofness, overall durability, and stability. Wireless earbuds with over-ear and in-ear hooks/fins proved to be very good for all kinds of sports.

If you want wireless earbuds for commuting and air travel, you should probably look for those with active noise canceling technology or at least those that offer good passive noise isolation.

Q: Are truly wireless earbuds worth it?

A: Numerous truly wireless earbuds are worth the price but, as always, some models are overpriced and don’t offer the performance that’s on par with the price. One thing we can tell you with certainty is that all the models from our list of 6 best wireless earbuds with charging case in 2024 are most definitely worth the price.

Q: Are over-ear headphones better than earbuds?

A: More often than not, over-ear headphones will outperform wireless earbuds. Most wireless earbuds, especially those made for sports, are very bass-oriented. However, you will occasionally find a great-sounding pair of wireless earbuds. Take Powerbeats Pro earbuds or Samsung Galaxy Buds +, for example. We were pleasantly surprised by their sonic performance. They most definitely are not an audiophile material, but they do sound pretty great.
