Why Do We Need Bluetooth Earbuds?

Bluetooth technology has been invented in early 90’s. As you could assume, the idea showed up among the scientists who were working in the mobile phone industry. They wanted to enable wireless data transfer and they succeeded, but only in 2000. After that, the mass production of Bluetooth enabled devices has begun.

If you look back into past, you will remember how we used to send files to each other from one phone to another via Bluetooth. Later, we got many Bluetooth devices, such as laptops, headphones, earbuds, etc. Today, we can even choose what kind of Bluetooth headphones we want to buy (full-size headphones, earbuds or even truly wireless earbuds). Truth to be told, Bluetooth technology is still developing but it has the tendency to rule the world. The newest achievement are truly wireless earbuds, which you can also find on our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds. They are the youngest and the most problematic type of Bluetooth earbuds, but the bright future is in front of them. Once the signal range is improved, when the cutouts are eliminated and the battery life is significantly prolonged, we will know that we have succeeded in our efforts to make the world less wired.

The combination of Bluetooth technology and earbuds was revolutionary. It has made our life so easier and here are some of the advantages of using the Bluetooth earbuds in everyday life.

Bluetooth earbuds are more practical than other types of headphones

When you combine small highly portable headphones with Bluetooth technology, you get quite amazing results. The cable length shortens and you are not attached to your device. The earbuds are lighter than regular headphones by definition, they can be thrown in a pocket or a backpack and go anywhere with you. They aren’t perfect, but they manage to deliver more than decent sound, achieve decent loudness while the amount of isolated ambient noise also can’t be neglected. They seal the ear canal nicely preventing great amount of ambient noise to be heard by the user.

Bluetooth earbuds make you more mobile

The main purpose of the Bluetooth technology was to enable wireless data transfer and the scientists have succeeded it. Today we can listen to any audio or video content using Bluetooth headphones of all kinds, sizes, and shapes without being directly connected to laptops, phones or TVs. As we have said previously, earbuds are more portable than any other kind of headphones. As we can see, the scientists are trying to make them even smaller and more portable by making them completely wireless. Bluetooth earbuds allow us to listen to our music, watch TV or work out in the gym while the phone or TV are at the certain distance from us. That makes us more mobile and less dependent from our devices. These earbuds usually have all the controls on the earpieces, so you don’t even have to reach out for your phone to skip tracks, adjust the volume or answer a call.

None of these technologies hasn’t been perfected yet, but that will happen soon and then we will be able to use completely wireless headphones, the signal range will be better than 33ft (that is currently the average) and we will experience the possibility to go farther from our devices without any signal cutouts.

Bluetooth earbuds enable you to do several things at once

Most of the people today live very fast constantly trying to do several things at once. One of the main requirements of the modern world is multitasking and if you don’t fit into those requirements, you will lose a lot of time and you won’t be able to finish all your tasks, especially if you live in a big city or work in a big company.

Bluetooth earbuds are one of the achievements of the modern technology. They enable us to do several things at the same time and we are very grateful for that opportunity. For example, you can do house chores while listening to music or talking on the phone and resolving some important issues or just having fun. Also, you can use the Bluetooth earbuds to make calls hands-free while driving a car. It is not completely safe, but it is less dangerous than holding the phone in your hands while driving.

Bluetooth earbuds are widely compatible

When you’re using wired headphones, you often have those with universal 3.5mm connector, Lightning connector, professional headphones with 6.3mm connector, etc.

When you buy Bluetooth headphones, you are able to connect to any Bluetooth enabled device and there are no limitations. Bluetooth earbuds can be paired to any Apple or Android phone, MacBook or laptop, iPad or tablet, anything you want. It is just one click away. It saves your time and nerves.

The List of 20 Best Bluetooth Earbuds in 2018

1. Mpow Flame Bluetooth Earbuds

Mpow Flame

Check Price on Amazon

Mpow Flame are Bluetooth 4.1V earbuds with 33ft signal range. They weigh 2.8 ounces, they have the battery that ensures 6-7 hours of listening to music or talking on the phone while the charging lasts only 1.5 hours. The earbuds have IPX7 waterproof rating and they support CVC 6.0 passive noise cancelling technology. They come in black, red, blue and grey colors and the price for each of the versions is more than affordable, especially on sales.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come with 3 pairs of silicone ear tips in different sizes (S, M, L), 1 pair of memory foam ear tips for small/irregular ears, cable clip, hard-shell zippered carrying case, USB charging cable and user manual.

 Things we like

One of the things we appreciate about Mpow Flame is their design and the variety of colors. They have pleasant and sporty design and the range of colors should suit the taste of the majority of customers. The matte finish is a really nice detail that looks way more elegant and practical than the glossy one. The earpieces have angled ergonomic design that allows the tips to enter deeper into ear canal and seal it nicely. That way CVC passive noise isolation works better and blocks more ambient sound. All the controls are highly accessible and located on the right earbud. The big multifunctional button on the front side has Mpow logo and you can use it for turning the earbuds on/off, for pairing or to play/pause songs or answer/end calls. On the top, you will find volume controls. There are also built-in mic and Bluetooth led indicator light.

Mpow Flame are very comfortable earbuds. They have very pleasant silicone ear tips in three different sizes. Besides them, you get extra small foam tips that adjust even to the smallest and most irregular ears. The ear hooks keep the earpieces in their place. They are soft, flexible and pleasant for wearing. Thanks to the them, you can use the earbuds for any kind of physical activity, even running. They will stay in place no matter what you do and the IPX7 rating will ensure that the sweat doesn’t damage them. The flat cable is tangle free; it is not too long, but the clip enables you to shorten it in case it annoys you.

When it comes to sound quality, these earbuds sound better than some more expensive products. They can get pretty loud and the sound in general is quite pleasant. It is very clear, especially the vocals, while the bass and the highs are completely satisfying. CVC noise isolation works nicely, just like the small mic that makes you available for important phone calls.

 Things we don’t like

We don’t have many complaints about these earbuds and their numerous buyers mostly agree with us. One of the rare complaints is about the bass. We can’t say we didn’t like it, but we think that if the earbuds are advertised as bass earbuds, the bass should be really strong and these earbuds don’t sound very bassy.

2. Focuspower F10 Mini Bluetooth Earbud

Focuspower F10

Check Price on Amazon

F10 Mini is small Bluetooth earbud. It is sold separately, not in pairs, so don’t expect two earbuds in the box. The earbud is very small, practically invisible to other people when inserted in ear. It weighs 0.16 ounces, it needs to be charged for 30 to 45 minutes and after that, you will be able to use it for 6h on average (up to 8h on low volumes, 4.5h on high volumes). It supports Bluetooth 4.1V connection and the signal range can go up to 33ft (at least, that’s how it is advertised). The earbud enables you to listen to any music you want, answer calls (thanks to the built-in mic) and still be able to hear what is going on around you.

 What’s in the box?

Focuspower F10 comes in a nice small cardboard box with sturdy zippered carrying case, USB magnetic charger and three silicone ear tips in different sizes.

 Things we like

One of the interesting things about F10 is its size. This earbud is one of the smallest earbuds on the market and we think it is great, as this one can’t stick out from your ear like most of the earbuds do. The price is also very acceptable, although it can be a bit strange that you spend this amount of money on one earbud when you can use the same amount of money and buy many different kinds of earbuds that are sold in pairs. However, F10 is worth its price and you will recognize it immediately.

The earbud is so small that a coin is bigger than F1 smaller than a coin. It has ergonomic angled design and it lays nicely in ear. On the front side, you will see round black button used to turn the earbud on and off. Above the button, you will see Bluetooth LED indicator light that shows you if the earbud is paired or not. The great thing is that the earbud can be paired to two different Bluetooth enabled devices at the same time, no matter if they are Android, Apple or some other kind.

The earbud is made from plastic but it is quite durable. It is also very comfortable, so you won’t have any problems even after many hours of wearing. F10 is great for all kinds of activities, all the way from sports to driving because it enables you to have fun or answer calls hands-free while doing something else. You will also be aware of the potential danger, as the earbud doesn’t block ambient sound.

When it comes to sound quality, the power of this one earbud will definitely surprise you. It can be quite loud and the sound becomes very pleasant and clear after breaking the earbud in.

 Things we don’t like

First of all, we would like to warn you to take the earbud in its case when you’re not using it as it is very small and you can lose it easily.

Second of all, the sound is quite muffled at first, so be prepared to wait for some time to break it in.

Last of all, the signal range is not 33ft, it’s closer to 10 or 20ft if there happens to be any obstacle.

3. Phaiser BHS-730 Bluetooth Headphones

Phaiser BHS-730

Check Price on Amazon

Phaiser BHS-730 are Bluetooth earbuds with 8mm speakers and magnetic housings, available in many different colors (black, red, purple, green and blue). They weigh 0.6 ounces; their battery offers up to 8 hours of playback or talk time while the recharging process lasts between 1 and 2 hours. The Bluetooth range is between 30 and 40 feet and the earbuds have nano-liquipel sweat-proof coating. The regular price is a bit high, but they can often be found on discounts for more than a decent amount of money.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come with many accessories. There are USB charging cable, 2 cable clips, 2 cloth clips, user manual, 3 pairs of silicone ear tips in different sizes, 3 pairs of ear wings in different sizes, a pair of foam ear tips and sturdy zippered carrying case.

 Things we like

First of all, we like the design of the BHS-730. They look interesting in all colors and there are enough options for anybody to find the right color. The earbuds can be used in any occasion (office, gym, walking, etc.). They have metal housings with built-in magnets that keep the earpieces together, preventing them to slip off your neck when not in use and be damaged or lost. Their design is slightly angled, which means the earpieces will go deeper in your ear canal and block ambient noise better than some other models. All the controls you might need (multifunctional button and volume controls) are located on the right side of the audio cable, just like the inline mic and USB charging port.

The fact that BHS-730 have metal housings speaks a lot about the build quality. Considering the material used and the original price, we couldn’t expect less. However, we are very satisfied with the audio cable, too. It is flat and nicely rubberized, while the nano coating makes the earbuds highly usable during sweaty workouts.

Besides that, the earbuds are extremely comfortable. They are light and there is a set of ear tips and wings, even foam tips, so there is practically no way that you can’t find the matching size. The earbuds are also quite stable and the wings make the stability even higher. In case you find the cable too long or too annoying (when bouncing behind your neck), you can use the clips to shorten it or attach it to your clothes.

BHS-730 don’t just look good; they also sound good. They don’t deliver mind-blowing sound, but it will definitely be great for any ordinary customer and any of his/her daily activities. The bass is strong and the highs are very clear. The vocals also sound decent. Battery is strong enough to survive average working hours while the signal is quite strong. The earbuds support CVC 6.0 passive noise cancellation technology, so you can be sure that ambient noise won’t bother you so much.

 Things we don’t like

One of the things we resent Phaiser is the bad quality of the control pad as many customers had problems with it falling apart and nano coating starting to peel off.

The battery life could be improved mostly because the competition has much more to offer.

4. Mpow Single Wireless Earbud

Mpow Single

Check Price on Amazon

Mpow Single is one of the relatively new achievements of modern technology. It’s a single earbud that is supposed to allow you to listen to music or make phone calls while your other ear is free. That way you are able to work out, work at your office or even drive while listening to music or talking on the phone and still be aware of the situation around you. The earbud uses Bluetooth 4.1V and EDR, the signal range goes up to 33ft, while the playback time can go up to 8 hours on low volumes after only 1h of charging. There are no wires, no cables and all you do is with the help of this small earbud and its round button. The earbud can be found in black, nude and rose colors. It is one of the cheapest earbuds on our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds and considering the price, it works incredibly well.

 What’s in the box?

Mpow Single EM1 earbud comes in a cardboard box with 2 magnetic USB charging docks, 2 spare pairs of silicone ear tips in different sizes, user manual and one small zippered sturdy carrying case. You also get 18-month warranty card along with 45-day return policy.

 Things we like

This earbud has ergonomic design, it lays nicely in ear and it is so small that many people won’t even notice you’re wearing the earbud. Besides, it can be worn in both right and left ear, which is the great possibility as most of truly wireless single earbuds can be worn in just one of the ears, mostly in the right one. On the front side of the earbud, you will find LED indicator that shows you if the earbud is on/off, if it’s pairing or it is already paired. There is also round multifunctional button above the Mpow logo and a small built-in mic.

Mpow EM1 is plastic Bluetooth earbud. In spite of that, it was very durable so far and it is also very light as it weighs only 0.1 ounces. It is amazingly comfortable, especially because you have the possibility to choose between three tip sizes and one of them should match perfectly.

The sound quality if satisfying for the price. It is good for listening to podcasts and audio books, while the small mic allows you to make decent phone calls. If you use the earbud in quiet environment, you will be able to hear the person on the other side perfectly, just like that person will hear you clearly.

It is great that Mpow sends you spare tips and even two magnetic chargers, so you can leave one at home and the other at the office or in your car. That way, the charger is always near and ready to be used. The important thing is to charge the earbud only with its charger as it will be damaged in case you use regular charging cable.

 Things we don’t like

To be clear, you shouldn’t expect amazing quality for such a small price.

The earbud is small and it can be easily lost. That’s why you should always wear it in its case when you’re not using it.

The battery life could be longer as the earbud is relatively quiet so you will definitely be forced to turn up the volume and that gives you 6 hours maximum.

The sound quality is not great, at least not for listening to music and the signal range can’t go over 33ft although the manufacturer claims that it can go up to 50ft thank to the EDR technology.

The only control button is the small multifunctional button that is used for turning the earbud on/off, pairing, answering and rejecting calls, and it can be a bit tiring to learn how to use it. There are no volume controls.

In addition, the mic works poorly if you’re trying to make a call in loud environment. You won’t be able to hear anything and the other person won’t hear you.

5. Zeus Outdoor Bluetooth Headphones

Zeus

Check Price on Amazon

Zeus Outdoor are Bluetooth 4.1V waterproof and sweat-proof earbuds with IPX7 rating. They have 33-feet signal range, battery that offers 8-10 hours of playback or talk time after only 2 hours of charging and CVC 6.0 passive noise reduction. They cost almost nothing and you wouldn’t expect them to be so popular, but the customers appreciate all they get for such a small amount of money.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come in an interesting cardboard box with sturdy zippered carrying case, USB charging cable, spare silicone and foam ear tips in different sizes and a cable clip.

 Things we like

Zeus Outdoor come in black color and their design is sporty and very attractive. The earpieces are angled so that the tips can go deeper in your ear canal and block more ambient noise. There are also flexible and soft ear hooks that go over your ears preventing the earpieces to slip out of your ears. On the front side of the right earbud, you will find the big multifunctional button with Zeus logo. It is used to power the earbuds on/off, pair them with your device, while the volume controls are on the top of the earpiece and they can be used to skip tracks. The charging port is on the bottom. The mic is built in the earpiece.

The build quality is not bad at all, considering the price. The earbuds are plastic, but they are quite durable in spite of the flimsy looks. The audio cable is great and it doesn’t tangle thanks to the flat design. They are very comfortable for extended wearing and also quite stable, so you can use them for any daily activity, including running. Besides, they are sweat-proof, so sweat and even some rain or a few splashes of water won’t damage them.

Zeus Outdoor sound good. They aren’t audiophile-friendly earbuds, but they sound just fine to any ordinary customer. The bass is nicely emphasized and the CVC noise isolation technology works well.

 Things we don’t like

All the good things aside, Zeus Outdoor have some important flaws that should be considered and resolved.

First of all, they sound slightly muffled. It is nothing irritating, but the mids and the highs should be clearer.

Second of all, the mic doesn’t work well in noisy environment. It picks up too much noise and the person on the other side won’t hear you clearly.

6. Kissral Q13 Bluetooth Headphone

Kissral Q13

Check Price on Amazon

Kissral Q13 is Bluetooth earbud that is sold separately and not in pairs. It costs almost nothing; it weighs only 3.5 grams and its battery offers up to 6 hours of playback or 8 hours of talk time (you will need 1.5 hours to fully recharge it). The earbud comes in black color only, it is very small and it supports CVC 6.0 passive noise cancelling technology. Q13 has built-in mic, the signal range goes up to 33ft and it is adequate for many activities that require your attention. For example, if you want to be available for phone calls while driving your car, this earbud is perfect for you. Also, if you go for a run and you want to be aware of the cars around you or any other potential danger, you can use this earbud because your other ear will be free and able to recognize any dangerous situation.

 What’s in the box?

The earbud comes in a simple cardboard box with carrying bag, short charging cable, user manual and two spare ear tips that have different shapes and sizes.

 Things we like

First of all, we like the ergonomic and slightly angled design of Kissral Q13 earbud. The design is minimalistic and attractive. The earbud is so small that other people probably won’t notice it in your ear. On the front side of the earbud, you have big multifunctional button with company logo. It allows you to turn the earbud on and off, to pair it with your device, play/pause music or answer/end calls. Bellow the button there are power indicator and earbud indicator. The last one shows you when the earbuds is on and when is paired. On the side, you will see small charging port.

Second of all, the earbud offers great comfort for the price. It is very small and very light and it is even possible for you to forget that you’re wearing it. Q13 is made for drivers, people who do sports or anybody else who wants to be aware of the surroundings while doing something else. In case you have some problems with tip size, you can try on the other two tips that come with the earbud and try to find the right size and shape for your ear.

Last of all, Q13 has stable signal range and it connects easily with all kinds of Bluetooth enabled devices. It is great for listening to podcasts and audio books and even the mic works fine.

 Things we don’t like

Well, Q13 is cheap product and it is cheaply made. We can’t say this earbud has poor build quality, but it is definitely plastic. There are some customers that have reported that the earbud stopped working after some time without any obvious reason.

Besides, the earbud is not very loud, so don’t expect to listen to loud music. The sound is fine, but the earbud is better for podcasts and audio books.

7. Soundpeats Q12 Bluetooth Headphones

Soundpeats Q12

Check Price on Amazon

Soundpeats Q12 are Bluetooth earbuds with metal magnetic housings that can be bought in black, blue, red and white colors at the very affordable price. They weigh 0.5 ounces; their battery can live for up to 8 hours maximum and the charging time is 2 hours. The earbuds support CVC 6.0 passive noise cancelling technology and they manage to block most of the ambient noises that usually annoy people when they are trying to listen to something.

 What’s in the box?

Q12 come with 3 pairs of silicone ear tips and ear wings on different sizes, one cable and one clothes clip, USB charging cord, zippered carrying case, warranty card and user manual.

 Things we like

Soundpeats Q12 have very attractive design. They have relatively small earpieces, they aren’t as bulky as some of the previously reviewed earbuds and they are available in nice and modern colors. However, these are not only pretty, they are also comfortable and that is also because of their ergonomically designed earpieces. They are angled and they go quite deep in the ear canal in order to block as much noise as possible. All the controls are on the control pad that is located on the right side of the flat and tangle-free audio cable. You will see there volume controls, multifunctional button, LED status indicator light, inline mic and USB charging port.

Q12 are also quite durable earbuds, considering they are mostly plastic. They are also very comfortable. The controls are highly accessible and easy to use, while the metal housings with built-in magnets don’t only increase durability but keep the earbuds safe from damaging and losing. For example, when you’re not using them and you don’t want to put them in their case, you can simply put them around your neck, the magnets in the housings will attract and the earbuds will be safe and near you in case you need them.

The earbuds sound great for the price. Even amazing. The bass is powerful and the mids and the highs are quite clear in all music genres. The pairing process is easy and the signal stays quite strong even at the 33ft distance. In addition, the passive noise cancellation works nicely and we think any ordinary customer that doesn’t want to spend much money on earbuds will be completely satisfied.

 Things we don’t like

Soundpeats Q12 are good, but in comparison with some other earbuds, their flaws become obvious.

For example, the company should work more on the sound quality and its clarity. The first impression is that the earbuds are great but if you listen more carefully, you will see that the vocals should be clearer than they are, just like the sound in general.

8. Phaiser BHS-530 Bluetooth Headphones

Phaiser BHS-530

Check Price on Amazon

Phaiser BHS-530 are Bluetooth 4.1V sweat-proof earbuds with 8mm speakers, noise cancelling mic and 0.8 ounces of weight. They come in 6 different modern colors (black, purple, grey, green, blue and red) and their price is really nothing in comparison to what they offer. They look sporty and they are made for sports, although you can use them for any other activity you want. All the controls are on the right earpiece (multifunctional button and volume controls as well as USB charging port) just like the small built-in mic. The battery offers up to 11h of playback or talk time after only 2 hours of charging.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come with user manual, USB charging cable, 2 spare pairs of silicone ear tips in different sizes, one pair of foam ear tips and a zippered sturdy carrying case.

 Things we like

BHS-530 have very interesting and attractive design that suggest the earbuds were mostly meant for people how do sports. They have special shape that makes them go over your ears and behind your neck providing more stability and better fit even during running sessions. They come in lively colors, so we are sure many people can find the best version for themselves.

The earbuds have nano-liquipel coating that prevents sweat and smaller amounts of moisture to damage the earbuds. That’s why the manufacturer gives you lifetime sweat-proof warranty. BHS-530 are made from silicone and plastic and they are very comfortable for wearing. Besides, these earbuds are quite light and you won’t even feel them on your head. You get the variety of ear tips from different materials and in different sizes, so in case neither of the silicone tips doesn’t match or doesn’t provide good noise isolation, you can always try foam ones, as they are usually much better in these situations.

The sound these earbuds deliver is great considering the price. The bass is quite strong and the mids and the highs are very clean. The passive noise cancelling technology works nicely while the Bluetooth signal is quite stable most of the time.

 Things we don’t like

One of the main problems of the Phaiser BHS-530 earbuds is their build quality. Besides being sweat-proof, these earbuds don’t have much to brag about in the build quality department. The plastic parts tend to break (the earpieces and the plastic around the audio cable), so you shouldn’t really expose them to severe use, which is a bit strange as these are sweat-proof and made for sports.

In addition, we found the neckband a bit stiff, which can cause slight discomfort, but that’s really not so alarming.

Comparison Table

9. Mpow Jaws Bluetooth Headphones

Mpow Jaws

Check Price on Amazon

Mpow Jaws are one of the Amazon’s best sellers that offer all the advantages of the Bluetooth technology for small amount of money. The earbuds weigh approximately 4 ounces, they support CVC 6.0 noise cancelling technology and they have the built-in mic that allows you to answer your calls wherever you are and no matter what you are doing. They come in black and purple colors and the battery can last for almost 13h per single charge.

 What’s in the box?

The Jaws come in a simple box with user manual, 18-month warranty card, USB charging cable and 3 pairs of silicone ear tips in different sizes.

 Things we like

We like the design and nice matte finish of Mpow Jaws. It is really interesting that they are made to look like shark jaws and the ends of the neckband remind us of that. They are actually clips with built-in magnets that are used to attract the earpieces when you’re not using the earbuds and keep them in place, which prevents them from being damaged, ripped off or something like that.

The design is very interesting and the earbuds look quite stylish. It also makes them quite comfortable and all the controls highly accessible. On the right side of the neckband, you will find volume control buttons, on/off button and USB charging port while the track control buttons are on the left side. The neckband is lightweight, flexible and pleasant for wearing. The earpieces have slightly angled design which makes it easier for the tips to enter deeper into your ear canal providing better noise isolation.

The built-in mic works nicely while the Bluetooth range goes up to 33ft and the signal remains stable most of the time. The real winner is the powerful battery that offers up to 13h of listening experience, which is way more than we could expect from such a cheap pair of earbuds.

 Things we don’t like

We can’t really complain about the flaws of cheap earbuds, but there are some things that should be improved. We have noticed the lack of clarity of sound. It is generally satisfying, but we would like it to be a bit clearer.

In addition, build quality of the Mpow Jaws is one of the biggest problems. They are plastic and they are as cheap as they seem. Some of the customers experienced problems with USB charging port as it can get damaged and become useless. It also happens that they simply stop working after a few months without any obvious reason and that’s the moment when you should try to use warranty card. The earbuds are generally not as sturdy as they should be, so if you decide to buy these, don’t expose them to severe conditions because they won’t last.

10. Hopday U8 Bluetooth Headphones

Hopday U8

Check Price on Amazon

Here we have one more of the Amazon’s best sellers and this time it is Hopday U8 Bluetooth earbuds. They support Bluetooth 4.1V, CVC 6.0 passive noise cancellation; they weigh only 0.8 ounces and their battery can live for 9 hours after 2 hours of charging. The earbuds come in black color with red details and all the controls as well as built-in mic and USB charging port are located on the right earpiece. The big red button with Hopday logo is the multifunctional button, while the volume controls are on the top of the earbud. U8 are also waterproof and dust proof earbuds as they have IP68 rating, which is amazing considering the low price.

 What’s in the box?

U8 come in the simple box with USB charging cable, cable clip, 2 spare pairs of silicone tips in different sizes and a sturdy zippered carrying case.

 Things we like

Hopday U8 are sporty earbuds and you can say that because of the big and flexible ear hooks that go over your ears and prevent the angled earpieces from sliding out of the ear canal. That makes these earbuds adequate for any kind of sports. You can wear them in the gym or take them for a run as they won’t pop out no matter how fast you’re moving, running or jumping. The audio cable is flat and it doesn’t tangle. In case you find it too long or its bouncing annoys you, you can always use the clip to shorten it. In case you find the tips that come on the earbuds too small or too big, you can try the other two pairs. One of them should fit you perfectly and you will be able to hear the best of the U8 earbuds and minimize the noise coming from the outside world.

When it comes to build quality, we must say that many customers were quite satisfied. The earbuds are mostly made from plastic, while the hooks are made from silicone and the cable is nicely rubberized. Besides, the earbuds are covered in protective layer that makes them resistant to dust, water and sweat, although you shouldn’t use these for swimming.

The sound quality is also quite satisfying for the price you pay. It is not audiophile level, but it is balanced and clear enough.

 Things we don’t like

Truth to be told, the earbuds look like many other more famous earbuds, so the design is not unique and the earbuds might seem a bit bulky to some people.

Besides that, we really don’t have important complaints, but we would like to warn you to use these carefully. After all, they are one of the cheap earbuds and no matter how durable they might seem, don’t expose them to severe use.

11. TaoTronics TT-BH026 Bluetooth Headphones

TaoTronics TT-BH026

Check Price on Amazon

TT-BH026 are very popular and quite cheap Bluetooth sweat-proof earbuds. They have attractive design, advanced Bluetooth 4.2 version, noise cancelling mic and magnetic earpieces. The battery requires 2 hours of charging and after that it can live for up to 9 whole hours. They can be used for all kinds of activities, from working in an office, commuting or running. They are available in black, red, blue and pink colors and they weigh approximately 0.5 ounces.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come with user manual, cable clip, 2 spare pairs of ear tips in different sizes, 2 spare pairs of ear hooks in different sizes as well as carrying bag and USB charging cable.

 Things we like

First of all, we like the design of TT-BH026. They come in 4 interesting colors and the earpieces are ergonomically designed. They are slightly angled so that the tips can go deeper in ear canal, while the flexible ear wings ensure extra stability in ears and prevent the earbuds to pop out during some physical activity. The earpieces are metal and they have built-in magnets which don’t only prevent the earbuds from being lost but also from being damaged. If you don’t have the bag and you’re not using them, you can simply hang them around your neck, the magnets in the buds will attract and the earbuds will be safe there.

Concerning that the earpieces are metal, we have to say that these earbuds offer great build quality in comparison to their low price. They look very durable and solid, all the way from the earpieces to the rounded audio cable with the control pad on its right side.

All the controls are highly accessible, you have there multifunctional button and volume controls, as well as inline mic and USB charging port. The earbuds are entirely covered with nano coating (they have IPX6 rating) which keeps them safe from the damage caused by sweat during exhausting workouts.

TT-BH026 sound great for the price. The sound is pleasant and balanced. CVC 6.0 passive noise cancelling works just fine blocking great amount of ambient noise, while the MEMS mic makes your voice sound clearer and crispier to the person you’re talking to.

 Things we don’t like

We really don’t have much to complain about considering the price of the earbuds. We would just like to get better battery life as you can get those 9h only if you’re listening to music on low volumes. In the opposite, the battery will last significantly shorter.

12. Treblab XR500 Bluetooth Headphones

Treblab XR500

Check Price on Amazon

Treblab XR500 are Bluetooth passive noise cancelling earbuds with IPX7 rating that makes them resistant to sweat, rain and even splashes of water. They weigh only 0.6 ounces, they have the battery that can last for 9 hours maximum while recharging process lasts up to 2 hours. The earbuds support Bluetooth 4.1V technology while the signal range can go up to 38 ft. The design looks a lot like the design of many other Bluetooth earbuds with hooks and bulky earpieces and they come in 5 different colors/color combinations (purple, white, black, silver and pink).

 What’s in the box?

XR500 come in a cardboard box with Treblab logo. In the box, you will find the earbuds, 6 pairs of silicone and foam ear tips in different sizes, USB charging cable, cable clip and one small zippered but sturdy carrying case.

 Things we like

The design of Treblab XR500 is actually quite attractive and sporty. These earbuds were made for sports but you can use them for any of your activities from commuting to working in the office thanks to their stability and comfort they offer. The buds are slightly angled. They have ergonomic shape that allows them to enter in the ear canal deeper than straight earbuds and seal the canal better isolating greater amount of noise. The tips are available in different sizes and different materials, so there is only a small chance you won’t find the right pair for you.

The control buttons are on the right earpiece (multifunctional button – big red button on the front side, volume controls) as well as the USB charging port and built-in mic. The cable is flat and resistant to tangling and just like the rest of the earbuds, it seems quite solidly built and durable. In spite of the plastic build, there were no major complaints about the build quality. In case something unwanted happens, you can always use the warranty card.

XR500 don’t deliver mind-blowing sound, but it is quite pleasant and decent for the price. It is very clear and crisp and the bass is nicely emphasized.

 Things we don’t like

As all other earbuds, Treblab XR500 have some flaws.

We want to warn you that there can appear some signal cut outs, even if the phone is in your pocket.

In addition, we would like to mention the design. It is attractive, but it gets quite boring when many earbuds made by different companies have almost the same design. It wouldn’t be bad to make some changes in this area.

Soundmoov

Soundmoov 316T represent one more pair of truly wireless earbuds on our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds. They have no cables, they are light as a feather (0.18 ounces) and they have their charging box that is used as carrying box at the same time. The box has 450 mAh battery that allows you to charge your earbuds 3 times. When the buds are fully charged, they can offer up to 3h of playback or talk time. They use Bluetooth 4.1V technology, signal range can go up to 50 ft and you get to choose whether you want your earbuds to be black, blue or grey. The earbuds cost slightly more than some regular Bluetooth earbuds, but nothing that an average customer couldn’t afford.

 What’s in the box?

316T come in a simple box in their charger with the user manual, two spare pairs of ear tips and USB charging cable.

 Things we like

First of all, we like the ergonomic design of the earbuds. They are very small and light and many people probably won’t notice you are wearing them. They follow the shape of human ear and lay comfortably in ear canal. You will be able to wear them for hours without any pain or discomfort; you might even forget you have them.

On the front side of the buds, you have the multifunctional button and built-in mic as well as LED status indicator. The multifunctional button is used to turn the buds on/off, to pair them and play/pause the music or answer calls (even activate phone assistant). The LED indicator will be red when the buds are charging and it will become blue when the charging process is finished. The LED indicators are also on the charging box that can be used as carrying case. It opens and closes by a click and it has decent build quality just like the earbuds themselves.

The sound quality is fine for the price. The noise isolation works nicely but you have to make sure you have found the right size of the tips as they can change the sound as well as the level of noise isolation.

 Things we don’t like

Considering the fact that this technology hasn’t been completely developed yet, we are satisfied with the earbuds, but we have to mention their flaws.

The earbuds don’t have any wings or hooks, so we wouldn’t recommend them for any difficult physical activity such as working out. They also don’t have volume controls. Besides that, signal cutouts may become regular occurrence even if you’re wearing your phone in your pocket and the sound quality has to be improved a lot. It gets distant and hollow at times and the earbuds aren’t so loud while the bass is a bit weak.

They weigh astonishing 0.5 ounces, the signal range is up to 33ft, the battery can last for up to 7 hours after 1.5h of charging and they have IPX5 rating that protects them from being damaged by sweat or drops of water. The earbuds have the usual design for Bluetooth earbuds and they can be bought in black, red or blue colors. They offer a lot and the price is very affordable, which is the main reason these have become so popular.

 What’s in the box?

SoundBuds are accompanied by one long and one short USB charging cables, three spare pairs of ear tips (in different sizes), 3 pairs of ear wings, metal car charger, carrying case and a cable clip.

 Things we like

S-250 have very simple design. The earpieces are a bit angled in order to provide better seal and fit. They come with differently sized ear wings that help provide better stability and prevent the buds to slip out of the ear. The earbuds are made from metal, which makes them not only more durable but also more convenient for wearing. As they have built-in magnets, the buds can be worn around the neck. That way, you have less chance to lose your earbuds or damage them. On the right side of the cable, you will find control pad with all the necessary controls. There are multifunctional button, volume controls, inline mic and USB charging port.

Recommended Reading :

The earbuds are quite durable in spite of the fact that they are mostly made from plastic. The metal housings are very solid and the nano coating adds some extra resistance to damaging. S-250 are also very comfortable. They are extremely light and you have a set of tips and wings to try on and adjust to your ears. Once you find the right pairs, you will be able to experience the best of the earbuds, both better sound and better noise isolation.

SoundBuds deliver pleasant sound with nicely emphasized deep bass. The highs are clear, signal is quite strong and stable and CVC 6.0 noise isolation technology works well and isolates great amount of ambient noise.

 Things we don’t like

One of the things we don’t like about these earbuds are their mid tones. They are decent for the price, but still quite muffled.

Besides, we want to warn you about the build quality of the control pad. It’s not as strong as the earpieces are and it happens that it breaks after short period of use.

TaoTronics BH-07 are Bluetooth 4.2V earbuds with more than acceptable price, magnetic earpieces, CVC 6.0 passive noise cancelling technology, IPX6 rating and a battery that can last for 6 hours per single charge (recharging takes 1h).  What’s in the box?

The earbuds come with 3 pairs of ear tips and 3 pairs of ear hooks in different sizes, one charging cable and one user manual.

 Things we like

The design of TT-BH07 is not innovative but it still is attractive. The earbuds have metal housings with built-in magnets, which not only means they are durable, but also that you can wear them around your neck whenever you’re not using them. That way, you keep them safe from damaging and losing. The earbuds have slightly angled earpieces, the tips and wings are provided in different sizes, so you should be able to find the best fit. You also get to choose between black, blue, green, pink and red colors. The control pad with USB charging port, inline mic, multifunctional button and volume controls is on the right side of the cable and it is highly accessible and easy to use.

The earbuds are extremely comfortable, adequate for sports and any other activity you can think of. Besides, they are also quite comfortable, thanks to the metal earpieces, tangle-free flat audio cable and nano coating that protects the earbuds from being damaged by sweat.

The sound quality is pleasant for any ordinary customer. It won’t blow your mind, but it does its job quite well for the price.

 Things we don’t like

The earbuds have problems with CVC 6.0 noise reduction technology as many customers say they aren’t satisfied with the amount of blocked noise.

Also, TaoTronics are too famous company to make earbuds with the battery that can barely last more than 5 hours.

In addition, the sound should be more dynamic and lively.

16. Senso Bluetooth Earbuds

Senso

Check Price on Amazon

Senso S-250 ActiveBuds are one of the most popular earbuds not only on our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds, but also on the entire market. They really don’t cost much, we can even say they are cheap especially for the Bluetooth earbuds. Apart from the price, these earbuds offer a lot to their customers. They support Bluetooth 4.1 CSR technology, they are extremely light (they weigh 0.2 ounces) and their battery can last for 8 hours after only 1.5h of charging. The earbuds support passive noise cancelling technology, their signal range goes up to 30ft and they have IPX7 rating which means they won’t be damaged by sweat, rain or a splash of water. They are made for sports and their design confirms that.

 What’s in the box?

S-250 come in a rather simple package with all the necessary equipment: three pairs of silicone ear tips in three different sizes, 2 USB charging cables (the short and the long one), cable clip, one sturdy zippered carrying case and even a car charger.

 Things we like

ActiveBuds have sporty looks but you won’t look weird if you use them at work, in a bus or at home. They are quite attractive and they come in a popular combination of black and red colors. The control buttons, the USB charging port and the built-in mic are on the buds, or to be precise, on the right earbud. On the front side, we have big red button with company logo and it is used from playing/pausing music, answering calls and pairing the buds with your phone or other Bluetooth enabled device. Volume controls are on the top while the charging port is on the bottom of the right earbud.

The earbuds are very light and comfortable for wearing for many hours straight. Besides, if you find the pair of tips that suits you most, you will be able to enjoy better sound as well as better noise isolation. The flexible silicone hooks go over your ears preventing the buds from popping out of your ear canals.

S-250 are plastic earbuds and they don’t look very durable and reliable, but in fact they are. Considering the price, these earbuds have proven to be very resistant to different ways of use and different conditions. The housings are sweat-proof and waterproof and the cable is quite flexible and tangle-free.

When it comes to sound, we like the deep bass and surprisingly clear highs. We also appreciate CVC 6.0 noise cancelling technology as well as quality mic that makes our voice sound quite understandable.

 Things we don’t like

We don’t have many reasons to complain about Senso S-250 because we can’t expect cheap earbuds to have the same performance as much pricier earbuds have. So, we would just say that we would like the manufacturer to make the mids a bit clearer as vocals can improve general impression about sound.

17. SoundPeats QY7 Wireless Earbuds

SoundPeats QY7

Soundpeats QY7 are very affordable Bluetooth 4.1V earbuds that come in white, blue and green colors. They have interesting design, they weigh slightly over 3 ounces, the battery can last for 6 hours maximum and they support CVC 6.0 passive noise cancelling technology. The earbuds have IPX4 rating, which makes them resistant to sweat. They can be used for workouts, working at home or at office or for anything else you want. You can pair them with any Bluetooth enabled device or you can pair them with two devices at the same time.

 What’s in the box?

QY7 come in a very simple cardboard box with user manual, hard-shell zippered carrying case, short USB to micro USB charging cable, cable clip, 2 spare pairs of silicone ear tips and 2 spare pairs of ear wings in different sizes.

 Things we like

The design of QY7 is quite attractive. The earpieces are slightly angled and all the important controls (multifunctional button and volume controls) as well as built-in mic are on the right earbud, while the USB charging port is on the left one. They are all highly accessible and easy to use. The cable is nicely rubberized and flat, which makes it tangle resistant and less prone to damaging. It also doesn’t cause microphonics.

Soundpeats QY7 are very comfortable earbuds. They are light and they have a set of tips and wings in different sizes. You can try them all and see which combination is best for you. That way you provide more comfort and better fit.

The sound quality is very pleasing considering the price. The lows are nicely extended and the mids and the highs sound clear enough.

 Things we don’t like

One of the things we don’t like about these earbuds is their plastic design and the bulkiness in user’s ears. They just seem too big, bulkier than some other Bluetooth earbuds and they stand kind of low in ears.

As the earbuds are made from relatively cheap materials, we had problems with some parts such as USB charging port protective cap. It is quite difficult to remove it and once you do it, you can’t insert the charger safely as the charger presses the cap, which can damage either the cap or even the USB port. In case that happens, the earbuds become completely useless.

18. Sony MDR-XB50BS Extra Bass Bluetooth Headphones

Sony MDR-XB50BS

Check Price on Amazon

MDR-XB50BS are relatively affordable Bluetooth earbuds by Sony. They support Bluetooth and NFC pairing technologies; the battery can last for 8.5h after 2.5h of charging and the buds have IPX4 rating that makes them resistant to sweat and even rain drops. The earbuds come in black, red and blue colors and they weigh 0.8 ounces. All the controls are on the right earbud (multifunctional button and volume controls). There is also USB charging port as well as built-in mic.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come in a rather simple box. Inside the box, you will find the plastic transparent box that contains the earbuds. You will also get 3 spare pairs of ear tips in different sizes and 3 pairs of ear wings in different sizes. There are also user manual and USB charging cable included in the package.

 Things we like

MDR-XB50BS are quite attractive earbuds in all available color combinations. They have nice rubberized surface, highly accessible controls and flat and tangle-free audio cable. The buds come with a bunch of tips and wings, which makes it easier for you to find the best size for your ears and achieve the best fit and seal.

The earbuds are generally very comfortable. The tips and wings are soft and they don’t cause any pressure or discomfort for your ears. They make good seal and they won’t slip out of your ears so much even if you use them for running. After all, these earbuds were initially made for sports.

The earbuds aren’t advertised as extra bass earbuds for no reason. They do have very pleasant, strong and powerful bass that makes the electronic music sound amazing. The Bluetooth range is decent and the signal is quite strong most of the time. The earbuds isolate nicely great amount of ambient noise thanks to the ergonomic design and good seal.

 Things we don’t like

First of all, even on discounts, these earbuds cost more than they should, considering all their flaws. The truth is they have their positive sides, but the brand is what makes them more expensive than any nameless earbuds that cost twice less.

Sony MDR-XB50BS have terrible build quality for this kind of earbuds, especially for the pair signed by Sony. They feel quite flimsy, cheaply built and badly put together. The manufacturer doesn’t provide cable clip or a carrying bag/case, which would come in handy to all the customers.

In addition, the mids and the highs we sacrificed so that the bass could be so great and we think Sony should deal with this problem in a different way.

The mic works nicely and you will be able to hear the other people talking to you, but the problem is they will hear your voice badly and you will sound distant to them. The fact is the mic works better in quiet environment than in crowded places.

19. Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones

Bose SoundSport

Check Price on Amazon

Here they are. The most expensive earbuds on ours list. They are not just any earbuds, they are Bose SoundSport and they are worth every penny you spend on them. They come in blue, black, red and white colors and they look quite attractive and sporty in any of them. They support Bluetooth and NFC pairing; the battery can last for 6 hours and the earbuds are sweat-proof thanks to the IPX4 rating. The earbuds are also quite light as they weigh 0.8 ounces. Bose allows you to download the app that will help you organize the music you want to listen doing your workouts, make playlists and adjust the sound to your taste.

 What’s in the box?

The earbuds come with nice small zippered carrying case that can be attached to your bag or backpack, short USB charging cable and two spare pairs of ear tips with ear wings in different sizes. There is also one cable clip.

 Things we like

First of all, we love the sporty design of Bose SoundSport Bluetooth earbuds. They are meant for sports but you can take them anywhere you go and still look interesting and stylish. The on/off button and USB charging port are on the right earbud, while all the other controls and inline mic are on the control pad on the audio cable.

The earbuds are made from quality and durable plastic and they can survive contact with sweat, rain or minor splashes of water. The cable is nicely rubberized, very flexible but still surprisingly strong and thick. The buds are very comfortable. They don’t weigh much and you have the set of ear tips with wings so you can pick the pair that fits you best.

The earbuds don’t go too deep in your ear canal, but they still manage to block certain amount of ambient noise. They are also very stable and they will hardly slip out of your ears. The bass is dominant, but very pleasant. The sound is energetic and dynamic, perfect for sports. The mic is also very good and it doesn’t make your voice sound distant or muffled.

 Things we don’t like

Truth to be told, we don’t have many complaints as Bose SoundSport are great earbuds.

However, they do cost a lot and many people might consider that too expensive for a pair of earbuds, no matter if they are Bluetooth or not.

In addition, the earpieces do look bulky in ears although there is no obvious reason why they are so big. The battery is not more powerful than the battery of some cheap earbuds and most of the control buttons are on the audio cable, not on the earpieces.

20. Jaybird X3 In-Ear Wireless Bluetooth Sports Headphones

Jaybird X3

Check Price on Amazon

Jaybird X3 are the second most expensive earbuds on our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds. They have very attractive design and although they were made for sports, the wings make them look kind of elegant and suitable for any other opportunity. They come in 4 different colors (green, black, red and white). They have the battery that can last for 8 hours max but they also support fast charging, so you can get one whole hour of playback time after only 15 minutes of charging. They also have hydrophobic nano-coating that makes them sweat-proof and suitable for exhausting and sweaty workouts. The app you can download makes it easier for any customer to adjust the sound to their own taste. The buds are very light as they weigh only 0.5 ounces. The controls are located on the control pad on the right side of the audio cable. There are multifunctional button, volume controls, USB charging port and inline mic.

 What’s in the box?

In the box, you get the user manual, short USB charging cable, cable clips, three pairs of silicone and three pairs of foam ear tips in different sizes as well as three pairs of ear wings. There is also one small but practical carrying bag/pouch.

 Things we like

One of the things we like the most about X3 earbuds is their design, especially the wings that make them so special. They come in different colors and they look attractive in any of them. The earpieces are slightly angled. That way, especially with the right pair of ear tips and wings, you achieve great fit and seal, the tips can go deep in your ear canal in order to deliver the best possible sound and isolate as much ambient noise as possible.

The earbuds have very good build quality. In spite of being plastic, they are durable and nicely built. The earpieces seem quite solid while the cable is flat and tangle-free. They are also very comfortable thanks to the design, range of available tips and wings and the light weight. Also, you can download MySound app that allows you to create your own sound profile and adjust the sound of Jabirds to your own music taste.

Speaking about the sound, X3 deliver very nice sound. The bass is powerful and nicely exposed. The mids and the highs also sound very pleasant and balanced.

 Things we don’t like

Well, we must say that although we love the X3 earbuds, we think that the customers should get more for the price. After all, these earbuds are among expensive Bluetooth earbuds on the market.

The mids and highs are left behind thanks to the too exposed bass. We love the bass but the mids and highs shouldn’t suffer because of that. Thankfully, you can always adjust the sound using the app.

The earbuds don’t have so good signal range. Although the average range for Bluetooth 4.1 is 33ft, these earbuds can’t preserve strong signal at the distance greater than 25ft.

In addition, the 8 hours of battery life is certainly not enough when you take the price into consideration.

Last of all, take care of your earbuds. Although they are sweat-proof, some people had problems with nano protective layer starting to peel off after some time.

Things to Consider When Buying Bluetooth Earbuds

As all other products, Bluetooth earbuds have their good and bad sides and some features than make them so special. We will try to emphasize those features and explain what to look for when buying this kind of earbuds in order to get the best possible option that fits your budget and suits your taste.

Price

It may be sad, but it is also very true – you have to pay attention to the price no matter what you are buying. Today, we have all kinds of products in all price ranges. Not all those products belong to the certain ranges, as they aren’t good enough for the price. However, many people still buy them because of the famous brand, good add or some other reason.

Most of the earbuds on our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds have decent prices and they offer a lot for the money. There are also some expensive branded models and we really believe that they are worth it if you have enough money to spend it on expensive earbuds. However, there is something for everyone; sport earbuds, noise cancelling earbuds, truly wireless earbuds, etc. It is up to you to see how much money you have on your disposal and pick the pair that fits your budget and is adequate for your needs and requirements.

Purpose

We always say it is important to define the purpose of any new device as that knowledge make the purchase much easier. When you are aware of the things you need and you know why you need them, you will narrow the search and find the right product easier and faster. For example, if you need Bluetooth earbuds for sports, you will filter the search to the sports earbuds that have some kind of sweat-proof or waterproof protection and ear wings or hooks that make them more stable even during exhausting physical exercises.

Battery

Battery life is one of the most important features of any Bluetooth headphones. The technology hasn’t been completely improved yet and many Bluetooth earbuds still have problems with short battery life, especially truly wireless earbuds. Most of them can last for 5-6 hours at max, while the battery of some classic models of Bluetooth earbuds can last more than 10 hours, which is amazing. The fact is that we always recommend buying earbuds with more powerful battery as you won’t have to worry if it will have enough juice until the end of your work day, workout, trip, etc.

Stability

Stability is one of the most important things for any headphones, especially for earbuds, even more if they are used for sports or some other physical activity. It can be very annoying (and there is probably no person who can tolerate it) when you’re working out or running and the earbuds are constantly slipping or popping out and you have to readjust them every 5 minutes. In those situations, you can’t properly concentrate on your workout or anything else you’re doing.

In order to prevent those unpleasant experiences, you should find the earbuds that stay securely in your ear. If they have some ear wings that gives them extra stability, it is the perfect combination. It is also very important to find the right size of ear tips, so try to buy earbuds that come with several spare pairs of tips in different sizes.

Build quality

When we are buying something, we want it to last as long as possible and it is completely normal. It is the same with earbuds, no matter how cheap or expensive they are. The earbuds are mostly built from plastic as it makes they lighter, but that plastic should be resistant to damages. It would also be great if the earbuds could have metal housings or some kind of protective layer that makes them resistant to water or sweat. The cables should be flexible but durable and they shouldn’t cause microphonics.

The Negative Sides of Bluetooth Earbuds

Although we are true fans of Bluetooth technology, we must admit it is not perfect and it still has some flaws that have to mentioned so that you can know what to expect from a pair of Bluetooth earbuds.

Battery life is limited

No matter how long the battery on your earbuds can live, the fact is that time is limited. The battery will last longer if you’re making calls or shorter in case you want to listen to music the whole time. In any case, you have to take care of its status and recharge it regularly, as you don’t want to run out of it in the middle of something important.

Signal range is limited

It is true that Bluetooth technology offers more freedom and makes us more mobile. However, the fact that you are not attached directly to your phone with a cable doesn’t mean you can leave your phone at work and still be able to use the earbuds at home. It even doesn’t mean that the signal will reach from one room to the other. Sometimes, it works nicely, but most of the time obstacles such as walls additionally limit the signal range. When the manufacturer says that the signal range goes up to 33ft it really means the signal range goes up to 33ft without obstacles. However, many products have problems with signal cutouts even if your phone is in your pocket. The results mostly depend on the circumstances and the manufacturer itself.

Sound quality is not perfect

We are not trying to say that Bluetooth earbuds don’t sound good. Not at all. We are trying to say that the quality of sound is not at the same level as the sound quality of wired earbuds and full-size headphones. The problem is in the wireless transmission of sound. The sound is sent via Bluetooth and to do that you have to compress the sound (or any data that is sent wirelessly). When we are doing something like that, the sound loses its quality. The technology hasn’t been perfected yet, and it is understandable, but it is fact that many people still prefer wired headphones to wireless if their main goal is mind-blowing sound quality.

In the end, we just want to suggest you to consider our advice and go carefully through our list of 20 best Bluetooth earbuds. We are sure you will find at least one pair of great earbuds there.

I’m a writer and editor at AudioReputation. I disassembled my first portable AM/FM radio when I was only 8. At the age of 11, I burned the circuit board on my old boombox cassette player. I’m not going to explain how but it was reckless and stupid.

Since then, I have become much more careful around radios, boomboxes, and other audio devices (at least, I like to think so) but I have never lost the passion for audio equipment. Throughout 20 years of my professional career, I’ve been working for various audio equipment manufacturers and even started building speakers on my own in my little workshop.

I love the work we do here at AudioReputation. Testing, comparing, and evaluating all kinds of audio devices (speakers, soundbars, headphones, home theater systems, etc.) is something I truly enjoy. I try to be unbiased and give you my honest opinion on every piece of equipment I test. Still, you should take my reviews with a pinch of salt and always be just a little bit skeptical. The fact that I liked some speaker or soundbar doesn’t mean that you are going to love it. If you have the opportunity, you should test it/hear it before buying it.
